All Fayette County properties are accurately assessed. The Property Valuation Administrator (P.V.A.) Office Staff must physically and accurately assess all Fayette County Parcels (over 90,000 in all) every four years as required by Kentucky Revised Statutes. The PVA must upgrade and update all P.V.A. Office Technology to have P.V.A. Office Staff accurately assess Fayette County properties. There is public access to Fayette County property records. All public records of Fayette County Property Assessments should be accessible via the Fayette County P.V.A. Website, and the Research Database Terminals located at all Lexington Public Library Branches. The Lexington Bluegrass Association of Realtors, Fayette County Neighborhood Council, Lexington's Faith-Based Institutions, and local, state and federal government agencies in her effort to increase public awareness of the Property Tax "Homestead Exemption". All property owners should be informed, throughout the year, of any and all re-assessments via the P.V.A. Website and the U.S. Postal Service (instead of 'once a year during April' as is the present policy of the current P.V.A. Office). All property owners should be allowed to discuss any assessment discrepancies with either her or a member of the P.V.A. Office Staff anytime throughout the calendar year (not just once a year during a short time period). P.V.A. Office Customer Service should be improved Annual customer service training should be mandatory for the entire P.V.A. Office Staff. |
